Cary Audio SLP-05

Conservatively rated as 8/10. Operationally perfect (and sounding absolutely wonderful, selling because I upgraded to a BAT) and cosmetically near-perfect. Bought as demo from Music Direct in 2022, still under warranty until April 2025 (not sure if warranty is transferable, however). Had the Ultimate Upgrade ($1,799) installed in 2022. I have handled it always with gloves on, cleaned with dry microfiber. One hairline scratch on top of power supply, hardly visible under normal light, invisible when main unit is placed above. I had issues with the power supply's meter light boxes going out a couple times.  This did not affect operation at all, a purely cosmetic issue. I was given a new power supply with the old chassis. I was told by Cary's service manager that "ever since we implemented the LED change, we haven't had any units come back."

I upgraded the 6 main tubes to Linlai "top 10%" one year ago ($1,000).  The 8 original Electro-Harmonix tubes also included.  Original double-box, manual, remote.

Unit + Ultimate Upgrade + Linlai tubes = $10,000.  Selling for $6,000.00.
