Bespoke Commonwealth 12D NOS/Bird of Prey/Schroder CB Magnetic/LDA power supply

I purchased this Commonwealth 12D NOS in the box with all original manuals and paper work. Never mounted never oiled until now! Out the box it’s speed perfect using the LDA USA brand new power supply, at 220v/50Hz (110v in) as the Commonwealth requires. Mounted in a multi layer void free Baltic birch ply plinth that is veneered in 40yr old antique Brazilian Rosewood. The top 2” of the plinth is isolated from the 5” below by Dynamat sound deadening material. The removable arm boards are connected to the 5” base so zero vibration from the massive motor reaches the tonearm and cartridge. The bottom is tapped to accept any feet that use 1/4-20 threads, and can be set up with four or three feet, as you choose.  

Mounted on the right side is the incomparable Bird Of Prey Tonearm. 

A magnetically stabilized viscous damped unipivot tone arm. (Standard nickel- gold plate is an upcharge)
It can be use with variable effective length to a small extent even though designed with the same geometry as the SME 3012. 
It has variable effective mass via its outriggers or “wings” 14-52 grams is achievable 
It comes standard with; a “J” wand with an SME style collet for use with both our headshell’s as well as any standard headshell, also included is a straight arm wand. Both are 12” types. (SPU A geometry, 16” and 18” arm wands are available). The straight wand is Pernambuco wood. The J wand is Ebony. 
I comes with 1.8m cable. (It can be terminated Single Ended, Balanced, or Field Coil). 
Custom tuned arm wands are available as an addition. Using carefully selected different density woods for different music genres, eg: jazz, classical, rock etc. 
It feels and acts as a fixed captive bearing arm with all the sonic advantages of a unipivot in terms of speed detail information retrieval. It is noiseless in the groove like no other arm. It had stability across the LP even with the “J” wand, this is because the bearing can be loaded evenly- a first in tonearms.

The back left has a unique Schroder CB tonearm made exclusively by Frank. It uses a small magnet in the end of the arm wand. The cartridge mounting plate has a similar magnet. This allows the cartridge to follow the groove with zero tracking error. Franks design was a homage to the long gone RS Labs pivoting headshell A1 arm, be it with a far better system with magnets than “sticky” needle point bearings.
