Schiit Audio Urd

For sale is a good piece of Schitt: The Urd CD Transport and Unison USB Hub in Black. 

I bought this transport for temporary use while my high-end transport was being serviced. I was also curious about its implementation of the CD mechanism from StreamUnlimited. The Urd uses a metal CD tray and features two transformers, one of which is dedicated to the drive. From an audiophile standpoint, it just sounds like serious efforts. 

I've used it for a total of less than 40 hours, and it doesn't disappoint. The Urd is quiet and smooth in operation and sounds noticeably better than Cambridge CXC II or various Denon / Marantz  models connected to my reference Playback Designs Dream DAC. 

I heard that the Unison USB connection to a compatible Schitt DAC is a further upgrade in SQ, Sorry I don't have another piece of Schitt to confirm. I can confirm that using it's SPDIF output to feed a Titans Audio Lab Helen (also available, see my other audiogon ad) further improves its performance from great to terrific. 

The condition is like new with less than 40 hours of play time. There's no cosmetic or operational issue to talk about, and I have the original box / foam / remote / manual it comes with. To sweeten the deal I can include a professional grade Canare coaxial/RCA digital cable ($100 value) for free. The buyer is also entitled to upgrade to a Titans Audio Lab Thunderbolt Digital cable at discount. 

For those who still spin silver discs like me, you've read so far and you know there's no way to obtain a GREAT CD transport for under a thousand dollars, anything at reference grade will cost you five figures. Buy this Schitt and potentially add a Titans Audio Lab Helen / Thunderbolt, then you have an affordable digital source that sounds quite close to reference grade stuff, streaming or physical.
