This is the best preamplifier I have used. It is better than my current Audio Research REF6 (which costs a whole lot more. I currently keep the REF6 for its HT Bypass Mode - only useful if you want your preamp to also work for movies along with audio). Why am I selling it - I'm buying the $30k VAC Master that has the bypass mode.
This is a whole lot more euphonic / musical than the REF6 (which is too clinical). I used the Mk V with my Focal Maestro Utopia speakers. I paired it both with Pass Labs X260.8 and also later with Parasound JC1+ monoblocks and got excellent results with both.
The tubes are less than 50 hr old - I bought them from VAC in Florida.
