Teres Audio Custom

Here is a very beautiful and excellent working turntable that I built about 15 years ago, when I was in my late 50's. It uses a Teres Audio acrylic platter and bearing, with metal shot in the platter to bring the weight of the platter to 25 lbs. I removed this platter and bearing assembly from an existing base. I found a piece of Bubinga Hardwood that was 2 inches thick and large enough to use as the base for this turntable. I laid out the shape I wanted and had my father in law cut the shape out on his bandsaw. He then proceeded to sand it into the beautiful piece it now is. He was a skilled wood craftsman.We used a Forstner bit to drill the hole in the center for the bearing assembly.
The table uses a Jasmine belt drive dc motor that performs flawlessly and has 33 and 45 RPM. 

  I originally used a Shure SME tonearm on the turntable, but later installed the current "Pete Riggle Woody 12 Inch String Theory Tonearm" on the table. Or should I say, I had Pete Riggle install the tonearm onto my turntable. (See photos of him with my table.) 
I live in Western Washington at Lake Tapps, and Pete lives in Eastern Washington in the Tri-Cities area. His tonearm has received excellent reviews over the years.Pete received the "Positive Feedback Online Writer's choice Award" from David Robinson, Editor in Chief and Dave Clark Editor of Positive Feedback. This award was for the "12 inch String Theory Tonearm". It was this award that caused me to purchase the tonearm and I have never regretted it. 

The reason I am selling my turntable at this time is because I am in my 70's and I have a neurological condition that has been getting worse over the years and I am now not comfortable with lifting and setting a manual arm as I am too shakey. I use a SoundSmith ruby cantilever stylus and I could just see myself breaking it. (which fortunately I have not.)  As a result I had to purchase an automatic turntable that is "push button".  I have included a photo from 10 years ago that shows me in front of the system. The tonearm at the time was my Shure SME. 

The turntable also comes with a Shure SME 3009 Series II Improved tonearm. This tonearm is mounted on a separate hardwood base that allows it to be used as well on this turntable. I have included some photos of the SME tonearm and it's base.
Please note that there will be NO CARTRIDGES INCLUDED IN THIS SALE. I assume that anyone who wants a high end turntable wants to choose the cartridge themselves.  This listing includes the original owners manual for the Pete Riggle tonearm along with all accessories. It also includes a copy of the SME 3009 Series II Improved owners manual.
