The Dan D'Agostino Progression Preamplifier is an exceptional audio device designed to deliver uncompromising sound quality and precision. The Progression Preamplifier features an optional digital module that adds coaxial, Toslink, and USB inputs to the analog base model. The digital module handles PCM signals up to 24 bit/384 KHz and DSD signals up to 4xDSD (11.2 MHz). It feeds a discrete, fully complementary, and balanced analog signal path from input to output. This module is field upgradeable and can be added at any time. This particular unit does not feature the optional DAC module.
The preamplifier avoids negative feedback, resulting in open-loop distortion of less than 0.006% and an open-loop bandwidth extending beyond 100 kHz.
The included remote control features Bluetooth technology, extending its range and eliminating line-of-sight limitations. The volume control uses a stepped balanced resistor ladder for precise adjustments.
The Progression Preamplifier has two independent outputs that can be operated individually or simultaneously, making it ideal for driving a second amplifier in a subwoofer-based system.
The power supply is housed in a separate chassis with extensive electrical and magnetic shielding to prevent interference with critical preamplifier circuits.
Inspired by Swiss watch faces, the two analog meters serve as signal meters during music playback and balance indicators when adjusting balance.
