Hey Folks,
I have a matching AV123 7.1 home theater system ready for a new home. I'm the original owner of these, but downsized recently to a much smaller 2.1 system.  The original cost was around $2500 in 2008.  These days, anything that looks this nice would likely be more than twice that price.  I would prefer to keep everything as a matching set. I also have the original speaker bags I can include.  Asking $1250, with local pickup only in Richmond, Virginia.  I would recommend a large vehicle and maybe a friend to pick these up… the subwoofer weighs over 100lbs, but can take the amp and woofer out to make it easier to move.  One person can lug around a speaker pretty easily.  I included some glamor shots, as well as what is by far the worst scratching on the side of the center channel speaker.

The system consists of:
6 x AV123 X-SLS Encore Mid Towers - Cherry Satin
1 x AV123 X-CS Encore Center - Cherry Satin
1 x AV123 MFW15 Subwoofer - Cherry Satin

Overall, the X-SLS Encore towers are in good (7/10) condition. Some minor scratches, not through the veneer.  Some veneer cracking.  All of this is only visible from 6 inches away, and they look perfect from any reasonable distance. The real wood veneer on these is still beautiful, and I think the perforated metal grills were ahead of their time and still have a modern look. These cabinets can be mass loaded (bottom half filled with sand) for both stability and improved acoustic performance. I can provide several carpet spikes as well. The X-SLS is the mid tower version of the X-LS, and this speaker design is still being produced by GR Research. You can find some AV123 reviews from the time period, and these speakers were universally known as punching well above their weight.

The MFW-15 subwoofer is also in good (7/10) condition. Some minor scratches, not through the veneer and some minor cracking in the veneer at the seems.  It is a slightly different color than the towers in the right light, which is just due to being real wood.  These subs are notorious for being incredibly capable, and also having an Achilles heel. A number of capacitors on the amp go bad, and the subwoofers develop a hum. It sounds like a ground loop, but it isn't.  I have replaced the 4 capacitors that commonly cause the issue with upgraded Nichicon units (pictures included).  If there is a hum, you have to have the sub on and your ear less than 6 inches away to hear it at this point.  There is also a company run by the original designer of this subwoofer, Seaton Sound, that still sells more powerful new amplifiers and woofers for this subwoofer, if you ever wanted to upgrade.

The X-CS Encore center channel is in average (5/10) condition.  There are scratches on one of the sides in particular that are noticeable from sliding it in and out of cabinets over the years.  It is also a slightly different color than the towers in the right light.
