I purchased this exceptional turntable as new many years ago but technically I am the second owner. The initial owner never used it before selling it to me. I will gladly share the story.
I no longer have any time to listen to my once amazing audio system, so it is long past time to let it go with all of the shown bells and whistles.

This system includes the Basis Debut Vacuum turntable with a few spare components which are shown in the pictures, a Graham Model 2 tonearm as well as the vacuum pump and its controller and tubing.

It also includes a Walker Precision two-speed Motor Controller allowing you to switch between pitch-perfect speeds, without the need to change the motor drive belt. This is an awesome upgrade.

I have included pictures of plenty of spare belts, pins, spacers, tools, etc. They were included when new.

The original Basis Audio acrylic cover is also included.

Condition: The plinth has some minor scuff marks on one corner (picture available) and the arm wand shows some scuffing where the cartridge attachment nut is tightened on top of the head shell.

With the exception of the Walker Precision Motor Controller, I have all original packing boxes.  The boxes will be securely shipped on a Pallet (Skid) to ensure safe delivery.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

From Basis literature

No system can make up for a compromised signal from your turntable. Enjoying the ultimate in musicality, tonality, detail and imaging when playing records requires a turntable that is fully isolated and mechanically inert. The Basis Debut Vacuum unconditionally answers your question, “What am I missing?” by excelling in all areas of performance. The Debut allows you to feel the music.

We all know the need for thick, heavy records: they resonate less during play, giving you far better sound. The Basis Vacuum System allows you to forget all about 200-gram records. Who Cares? Your Debut Vacuum turns every record into a ten-thousand-gram record! The vacuum system fully couples each record to the dead-flat, massive platter, eliminating the problem of record resonance.

The Basis Vacuum Record Hold-Down System applies a controlled level of negative pressure to the underside of the record, guaranteeing a perfectly flat record that is so effectively coupled to the platter that record resonance is totally eliminated. The true musical tonality and texture captured on the record are revealed, without any added coloration of vinyl resonance. No system, other than gluing the record to the platter, can result in such perfect resonance control. Tests of record outer rings, never considered at Basis due to resonance problems of their own as well as the danger they present to the stylus, show only a twenty percent coupling compared to the Basis Vacuum System. The vacuum system restores warped records to exact flatness, eliminating speaker damaging and power robbing “woofer pumping” due to record warps. Dynamics, imaging, musicality, bass power, and tracking ability are all brought to levels unreachable without the Basis Vacuum system.

The Debut Vacuum has been used as a reference turntable by more top tonearm, speaker, and electronics manufactures than any other premium turntable. The sheer performance of the Debut Vacuum is enough to justify its exalted status. The absolute reliability and “last forever” construction only amplify the legend, assuring that when you want to listen, your Debut turntable will always work.

Isolating the turntable from the listening environment is crucial for you to really hear the music on the record. Any less than total isolation reduces your turntable to an expensive tone control, with the sound becoming colored by feedback. The Debut corner assembly is far more than a beautiful accent piece. Inside, it houses the ultimate turntable suspension. This hydraulically damped system gives the Debut the utmost isolation, and is totally maintenance-free. The results: a deep, “black background” and true tonality, the hallmarks of great analog sound.
