The PolyRing is the most advanced ring design available. It is an excellent upgrade for the PolyTable or any turntable that will accommodate it. The original and first clamping ring was used on the Merrill Heirloom turntable in 1980. The periphery ring in is forged from bronze to lower the resonance frequency and incorporates a damping insert. The ring is polished. All but the very early PolyTable have a platter diameter of12.250 inch and will accommodate the ring. If your platter is the early issue it will need to be upgraded. The PolyRing Universal will be supplied with a quick alignment tool. Be sure enough clearance is available for the ring body to hang down the side of the platter without hitting the drive belt or base. A .47 inch clearance is necessary. The record capture lip is .030 inch in thickness. Outside diameter is 13.125 inches. Inside diameter of the body is 12.265 inches. Weight is 35 OZ $590.00 hifigem.com
Questions for the seller |
---|
My GemDandy platter measures 12" across, edge to edge. I assume this means it is an early version you describe above. And does this mean I would have to update the platter (at what cost?) if I want to add the periphery ring? Thanks. HI Harris I will swap the platter at no charge with the purchase of the Polyring.. Which model do you own and where was it purchased? You can respond to [email protected] |
